As the votes continue to fall through due to the deeply dysfunctional Republican Party, the media's coverage of these events has been notably entertaining. Here is George Santos, throwing a temper tantrum in between the vote for the US Representative Speaker of the House. The political influence of former President Trump has proven to be more significant than initially anticipated in 2016. I am truly appalled by the Republican Party's persistent internal conflicts, which are preventing progress in our government and potentially leading to a government shutdown that would negatively affect the public. The fact that we are operating on a temporary 45-day budget only adds to the urgency. It's imperative to make progress before the chaos consumes the congressional floor and it's too late. They might as well amend the constitution and lower the age to run for election because at this point we are electing babies. 

As the Former Diversity Director, Vice Chair, and Chair of Michigan High School Democrats, I am stepping forward to address the current incident within Michigan High School Democrats. Here's my personal statement, a reflection of my views and hopes for resolution.
